What theme from the score was used in the beginning of the second movement of Korngold's violin concerto? I never heard it in any suite. Thanks.

It is "Angela's Theme" from ANTHONY ADVERSE. If you have the Varese CD of ANTHONY ADVERSE conducted by John Scott, you can hear it there for example at the beginning of track 5 ("The Love of Anthony and Angela").
