THURSDAY, MAY 26
THE WALKING DEAD---Robert Kirkman answered a fan's question about who should be dead by the time the series ends, "Rick, Carl, Michonne. In the show, Daryl Dixon, eventually Abraham, Rosita. Rosita’s already dead in the comics. Jesus."
DUNKIRK---new photos released from the Christopher Nolan World War II movie set filming on location at Dunkirk which involves over 5,000 extras.
ALIEN: COVENANT---new photo released from the sequel showing Katherine Waterston as Daniels.
TRUE DETECTIVE---Nic Pizzolatto may develop a new HBO series instead of returning for a third season of TRUE DETECTIVE.
COLT---miniseries underway based on Sergio Leone's undeveloped 1987 project about the Colt revolver used by Clint Eastwood in A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and the other "Man with No Name" spaghetti Westerns. The miniseries would follow the Colt from one owner to another.
Leone's daughter, producer Raffaella Leone, said, "It's from my father's idea in which the gun was the main character and the device through which the tale is told... We are thinking of six episodes, each one connected to a single gun shot. But we could do more.
The idea is a story about how a bunch of kids become outlaws in the Old West. It starts out when they are adolescents and traces their becoming bandits within the arc of the six episodes."
MR. MERCEDES---Brendan Gleeson and Anton Yelchin will star in the DirecTV tv series based on the Stephen King novel.
THE AMERICANS---FX renewed the series for its final two seasons which will air in 2017 and 2018.
LIMITLESS---producer/writer Craig Sweeny confirmed the series was cancelled and efforts to shop it to other networks was unsuccessful, "I’m truly sad to report that #Limitless will not continue on any platform. Thanks so much to everyone who watched.”
NATIONAL TREASURE 3---Nicolas Cage commented on the sequel's status, "I do know that those scripts are very difficult to write, because there has to be some credibility in terms of the facts and fact-checking, because it was relying on historical events. And then you have to make it entertaining. I know that it’s been a challenge to get the script where it needs to be. That’s as much as I’ve heard. But they’re still working on it."
POWER RANGERS---Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said about the future of the reboot movie, “We are really really excited about the POWER RANGERS movie. We could see doing five or six or seven."
CUDDLES---movie underway based on the play about vampires. Nicole Kidman is the producer.
MIRROR'S EDGE---movie underway based on the video game.
