Hi I went on 1200 mile trip to see my old friend of many years. I spent a week at his place My friend has colon cancer and is projected to pass on in about six months. I found it an odd visit. There was no real reminiscing of time gone by. When he was feeling up to it we would walk around the small lake in apartment complex. Talking about the mess the geese left on the trail, some baseball and a small amount of current events. Thank the almighty the weather was cloudy and cool. Otherwise my legs would have given out; it would have been a much longer walk. We would head back to his apartment and have lunch and later dinner; all the food was microwaved delights. The highlight of the trip was seeing his grand kids in church play. I must say it was very well done and quite enjoyable. We went out to lunch couple of times with his ex-wife who is a dear friend also. When it was time to go home to my wife and Fred I hope I left some goodwill and bit of love in my goodbye I must say the trip home was long and somewhat an adventure. 1) Going thru the security check point the zippers on my back pockets set off the alarm. 2) They did a pat down on me that’s when I lost my pants.(thank god I did not go commando that day) 3) The plain got to my transfer point the same time next plane was boarding.(I didn’t think I could still move that’s fast. I was like the last one on).
