It looks like X-Men: Age of Apocalypse is a CD-R, at least here in the U.S. Whoops! I just reread the subject matter. Amazon does state the X-Men cd is a cd-R, so false alarm! My apologies.

The listings for Money Monster, Man Who Knew Infinity, Crouching Tiger and Barbershop on Amazon UK all feature back cover images which make it appear those versions were made in Europe, which I think means they'll be pressed CDs, not CD-Rs. No back cover images for Beowulf or Fargo season 2 on Amazon UK, so it's less clear with those.

Amazon UK doesn't have the on-demand feature that the US outfit has so I doubt anything sold through the UK store is a CD-R.

Amazon UK doesn't have the on-demand feature that the US outfit has so I doubt anything sold through the UK store is a CD-R. Amazon UK does sell some of those WaterTower CD-Rs like San Andreas, which is listed as "import" and "mod" ("made [or manufactured] on demand," I think).

I'm disappointed that Sword of Destiny is (or appears to be) a CD-R. Since Dun won the oscar for Crouching Tiger & since that film & score did so much to boost China's cinema in the west, it's a shame a sequel with a reputed composer couldn't get a real cd. What do a CD and CD-R have in common... they are just both a STORAGE MEDIUM for audio digital information at 16 bit / 44.1 PRESSED CD have a longer lifespan then a CD-R HOWEVER if you don't just a sticker on it and store it in a cool and dark place it should have a fairly long life span as well. Now, most folks will get the CD or CD-R and rip it into their ITUNES or such and just play the music from there and toss the CD on the Shelf, in the closet,etc... So long as the sellers tell you want you getting, no problem The bottomline is that it's cheaper to do this when press up a CD and most companies like the AMAZON DOD service because you can tell get a "CD" for those folks who want it. So it's Downloads or this from many companies You might not like it, but this is where we are going in the 21st Century. Ford A. Thaxton
