I'm not incredibly thrilled about it being digital-only, either... nor am I happy about Netflix's "no blu-ray sets" policy for these Marvel shows (and in time I'm hoping Disney strongarms them into it). The only digital tracks I've ever bought were the various TRON:Legacy bonus tracks, and despite really loving that score it was still very grudgingly on my part. If they had to do digital, why not on Bandcamp in FLAC?

Maybe they wished to reach the widest possible audience? :-) Ford A. Thaxton

Sure, no argument that those services have a huge audience compared to something like Bandcamp, and the soundtrack should definitely be released on them. But if their goal is to reach the widest possible audience, then a release on Bandcamp as well as all those other services would make more sense. That way they'd hook the soundtrack and/or audiophile geeks, as well. And since this is a series based on a comic book, even if it isn't "THE AVENGERS MEGA-EVERY-HERO-EVER-MOVIE", reaching out to the geeks can't be a bad move. Unless, of course, there's something about publishing the soundtrack on iTunes/Google Play/Spotify/etc that somehow precludes also making it available in lossless on a competing service. I've never published music digitally or otherwise, so I have no idea of the legalities and potential contract clauses. Speaking for myself, the only one of those services I have an account with is Google Play, and that's really only because I have an Android phone and use the Play Store regularly for apps. I've never used it for digital music, movies, or tv shows. I gave up on iTunes/iPods years ago in favour of Sony's NWZ-A17 high-resolution audio Walkman and rip all my CDs to lossless FLAC, which the A17 can handle thanks to its MicroSD-expandable memory.

This WAS released in FLAC over at 7digital, Qobuz, etc. Well, it's good they're making some effort, although the album isn't on 7digital Canada, and Qobuz doesn't have a store open to Canadians at all. I may look into buying it from 7digital US, as unlike the majority of Canadians I have a US-issued credit card with a US billing address. However, according to their website even that isn't enough, you need to appear as if you're physically connecting to the internet from the US as well. Sad that in this day and age, when media should be more accessible than ever, you need to use a VPN to legally download a few tracks.
