It appeals to a specific demographic that strongly suggests it will sell very well - a late 1980s symphonic fantasy score to a movie many people in their late twenties and early-mid thirties rented on VHS and/or saw on the Disney channel in the early 1990s - so I think that this will probably happen eventually if it's at all possible.
This is actually an early cinemagoing experience for me. My mom has always been interested in witches (and Roald Dahl is a national icon in Norway, of course), so she took me to see this film back in 1990 -- one of the few times that I've seen a film in the theatre with my mother. I was 13 at the time.
So yeah -- nostalgic relationship to the film, but it's also quite good in its own right. I can't remember much of the score, but I do remember Stanley Myers' name in the credits (this was in the beginning of my film music interest). Bring on a release, I say!
