A thread a few weeks back about “Mad’s Snappy Comebacks To Stupid Questions” got me to thinking about what would happen in dangerous scenarios. As a child I learned the hard way that some folks just don’t appreciate the fine art of Snappy Comebacks after hearing for the umpteenth time: “Starving children in _____ would be glad to have your dinner!” and I replied something along the lines of “Well they’re welcome to mine.” Of course movie clichés are a rich resource of possibilities. Anyway if you’re interested I had a couple for starters:
Threat: “One false move and you’re dead!” SC: “Oh? Any danger in a making a real move?” Threat: “Don’t nobody move!” SC: “So, since a double negative cancels out you really mean anybody can move?”

This man came up to my door about 4 years ago and said, "Yo man.... do you have a cigarette?", and I said, "No.... do YOU?", and closed my door!
Sounds like a close shave with death. I'm amazed you lived to tell the tale. I'd have been afraid the guy would come back with a cigarette and blow smoke thru the key hole so I'd die from 2nd-hand smoke years later.
