I have to say the 3D on JAWS 3 is spectacular! The rest have pretty good transfers too.

Is Jaws The Revenge any less bad in high-def?

I have been hearing this everywhere.

Haven't had time to check if the Canadian version also has the same features - Amazon.ca is not the best for details. If Jaws 3 has the 3D option I will pick it up today.

Amazon.com envy is I think something all Canadians and the rest of the world suffer. IMO.

Can confirm that the 3D version is on the Canadian disc - features on Cdn disc are identical to USA.

Just that the Cdn versions have the French Title on the front cover as well. "Les Dents de la Mer"

That's the one I have. Can't find part 2 in stores anywhere here.

I didn't check for part 2 when I was at HMV today - both 3 and 4 were 2 for $20. Not planning on grabbing 2 on Blu-ray because you can't watch the TV cut. It's basically the same as the DVD release from my understanding.

I don't have a 3D TV, so I watched the Jaws 3 non-3D Blu-ray, and it looked terrible. We're talking some ridiculously fuzzy, dark, crappy-looking shots that should have looked far better. Doesn't look like a lot of care was put into the transfer. Jaws 2 looks pretty good, though not fantastic.

That's probably due to the way it was shot in 3-D, using an over/under filming system. Since one strip of film is used for both left and right images, you only get half the resolution of a typical 35mm film.

The 3-D version of the film on the blu-ray is amazing, though. There's a little more grain than I'd like during some scenes, but overall it's a great example of the kind of cheesy 3-D schlock that the 80s can be counted on to provide. While watching, you can tell the filmmakers just wanted to have fun with the format, compared to the mild and boring 3-D on most releases in the last couple years. Jaws 3-D was meant to be seen in 3-D, and only in 3-D.

I think one of the better uses of 3-D I've seen from the modern 3-D revival was in the Fright Night remake from a few years back. You could tell they were having fun with it, too.

I actually saw Jaws 3-D theatrically when it came out. I was 12 and still have the 3D glasses! The 3D effects were glorious on the big screen.

I also heard high praises regarding the 3D. Seems that's the only way to watch it. BTW I've never seen the film from beginning to end. But the clips I have seen makes me think this should've gotten an "R" rating.

I ordered Jaws 2. I seem to recall Spielberg speaking of not showing so much of the shark in 2, to correct a mistake. Should be an interesting watch (never seen it but for snippets).

I finally got around to watching the 3D version yesterday. The 3D is fantastic, and really pops. The opening credits really shoot out of the TV. Totally worth the $10 I paid for it. I'd never seen the film before in 3D, and it really enhances it.
