So sorry to hear about this. I had the opportunity to interview him several years ago. A very nice man and strong supporter of film music.

Sad news indeed. Conducted some magnificent scores. Rest in peace - 100 is a hell of a year to make it to!

It looks as though the LSO are cancelling his November concert to celebrate 100 years. I see no reason why it shouldn't go on?

And conducted Pete Rugolo's library music for "The Fugitive". R.I.P. Harry Rabinowitz.

As is my custom I'll buy and/or play some of deceased's music. Sorry to hear.

John Corigliano -- who had the clout to enlist a "name" conductor -- chose Rabinowitz to conduct his score for Revolution, with stellar results. Rabinowitz also provided the stirring arrangement of Parry's "Jerusalem" heard at the end of Chariots of Fire (I'm guessing it was Hugh Hudson recommended Rabinowitz to Corigliano).

Rabinowitz also conducted some film scores by French or Italian composers, such as those unable to attend the recording sessions

Rabinowitz conducted the U.K. recordings of Piero Piccioni's music for Puppet on a Chain, for example.

Harry R. can be seen in a photo on the reverse side of the LP soundtrack album for Antoine Duhamel's Death Watch.
