OK, it's a CDR I have made myself, but it's still a new compilation. I wanted to compile the best and most known film and TV score tracks from Giorgio Moroder and all the composers who at one time worked with him for longer or shorter time. Here is the track list, featuring composer and film. In chronological order, of course. 24 tracks, 79 minutes. 1. Giorgio Moroder - Midnight Express 1978 2. Giorgio Moroder - Cat People 1982 3. Giorgio Moroder - Flashdance 1983 4. Giorgio Moroder - Scarface 1983 5. Harold Faltermeyer - Thief Of Hearts 1984 6. Harold Faltermeyer - Beverly Hills Cop 1984 7. Sylvester Levay - Airwolf 1984 8. Sylvester Levay - Invitation To Hell 1984 9. Keith Forsey - The Breakfast Club 1985 10. Harold Faltermeyer - Fletch 1985 11. Harold Faltermeyer - Top Gun 1986 12. Sylvester Levay - Cobra 1986 13. Giorgio Moroder - Over The Top 1987 14. Harold Faltermeyer - Running Man 1987 15. Anthony Marinelli & Brian Banks - Young Guns 1988 16. Giorgio Moroder - Mamba 1988 17. Harold Faltermeyer - Tango & Cash 1989 18. Sylvester Levay - Navy Seals 1990 19. Sylvester Levay - Hot Shots! 1991 20. Gary Chang - Under Siege 1992 21. Gary Chang - Full Eclipse 1993 22. Sylvester Levay - Stalking Laura 1993 23. Harold Faltermeyer - Zeit Der Sehnsucht 1994 24. Harold Faltermeyer - Cop Out 2010

I came to think about it, several of these themes have been released as singles - quite a rare thing for score tunes. Top Gun, Fletch, Airwolf, Beverly Hills Cop, Thief Of Hearts, Midnight Express and Flashdance have all received that honor - and Midnight Express even won an Oscar.

Sure, it's a mix tape, but a dynamite one. A pity that no record label has thought of doing the same...

I burned this CDR to a friend of mine who is somewhat into the same music as me, and asked how many films and composers he recognized. He managed 19 of 48 points: 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 19. And correct composer (Moroder) on 1, 4 and 16. Quite good!

I'd be curious to know what specific cues are represented on your compilation. I hoped no one would ask. ;-) Let me think: 1. Theme From ME 2. Leopard Tree Dream 3. Love Theme 4. Tony's Theme 5. Love Theme 6. Axel F. 7. Main Theme 8. Main Theme 9. Love Theme 10. Fletch Theme 11. Top Gun Anthem 12. Skyline 13. The Fight 14. Intro/Bakersfield 15. Opening 16. Main Title 17. Stake Out/Set Up 18. Da Auto 19. Saboteurs/Enemy Planes/Topper Returns 20. Main Theme 21. Theme 22. End Credits 23. Main Theme 24. Night Stakeout

Night Stakeout Love it, although i always found the 'Semi-final' cue from 'Over The Top' superior to 'The Fight'. but great compilation anyhow !!

Thanks! Yes, Semi Finals is a great track, but I decided on The Fight because it's the only score track on the official album.

That would make a great CD compilation - but it would also be good to include soundtracks that have also been influenced by Moroder, and not directly connected to him. Sure. Be my guest and make one.

Midnight Express was actually the first record that got me interested in synths. Thief just solidified it for me.
