To anyone who has the 2CD set.....I have the old FSM CD of Patton but thinking about getting the Intrada. Besides the audio upgrade, which I assume is significant, is the extra echoplex session a worthwhile reason to upgrade?

Don't think about it, just do it!

The album track, "Winter March" is worth the price just by itself, and the sonic improvement is a given. For me, the Echoplex sessions are not essential, but this is a superb presentation of one of Jerry's finest scores.

Cheers!

well, I acquired it, to have on cd, the re-recording which is almost like a concept album ;it opens with FFC's marvelous Patton address to the troops
If you do not care about that, you are fine with the FSM, I guess

A big YES. It's a fun addition and you get the amazing original album and its exclusive tracks with the score version in stellar sound. Get it.

Yes, somehow I found the original OST recording to be a better listen sonically. Its my goto album for listening preference. The film version sounds improved and with all the extras. Without blinking, click and order immediately make that poor bastard die for his country by buying this album now big grin

The album re-recording is so good, buy this CD just for that. But there is more, and that is a first :
the album recording of the final scene is now presented in full stereo and without Patton voice-over (in the original album mix, the music was dialed-out and stupidely relegated to one ear, making it difficult to appreciate, especially on headphones).

Of course the voice-over version is also here, as a bonus. Simply put, it's the perfect edition of Patton.

Both albums are fine. The Intrada album has also the original soundtrack album recorded in London.
