From Variety's review:

What a difference a John Williams score makes, especially when compared to the relatively suspense-less, all-digital stylings of composer Marco Beltrami, whose background music sounds like broken sonar equipment.

Another retarded review from Variety... no big surprise there as that idiot obviously needs to have his ears examined, since there obviously were strings used to a great effect.

on the other hand Latinoreview:
Marco Beltrami’s intense, hip score may not be the next Jaws theme, but it serves its purpose well. Beltrami is the successful composer of horror thrillers like Scream and Hellboy, so his triumph here is not surprising.

Wegotthiscovered:
You’ll giggle one moment, then Marco Beltrami’s score cuts away to define how alone Nancy is, and the soft crashing of waves instills an unsafe discomfort that can’t be shaken.
