Not entirely satisfying Richard Attenborough film. Nice main theme, though.

I normally enjoy these threads, but this time you've gone too far.
By the way, I was in Nijmegen a few years ago when they were commemorating the seventieth anniversary of these events. A very memorable experience.

This is the one about British leadership cocking up a European enterprise again, isn't it? Tragic losses as a result.

Isn't this what you call a book that has been edited more than it needs to be?

Or, a song where you link one too many refrains?

"im afraid we dont have the facilities to take you all prisoner..sorry!"
Is this another one of your thinly-veiled poncey remarks, Billy-Bob?

Hackman had the best line, as the Polish general Sosabowski, while addressing "Boy" (Bogarde) Browning - "just makin' sure whose side you're on."

It was to prove old Poncey was an Englishman!
Picton wore a top-hat and carried an umbrella at Waterloo.

Bad memory old boy. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.
