...let's face it, many of the storylines are fairly predictable or I've seen these episodes more than enough times to not pay attention to what's going on, plot wise...

OR, the plots are unnecessarily complicated in a way that does not move the story along.

Whenever a show does that, we refer to as "High Concept."

I have split feelings on Man from Uncle.

I hate to say it, but I have mixed feelings on many "classic" 1960s TV shows. Whenever my wife and I start watching an episode, invariably we stop paying attention to the plot and start talking about fashions, haircuts, and decor of apartments or offices. It's still a lot of fun, but not what was intended.


I've been watching a lot of old '50s and '60s shows over the past few years, mostly on the Warner Archive, things like "Hawaiian Eye" and "77 Sunset Strip," and what I always end up doing during the watching is looking up the actors in them on IMDb or Wikipedia to see what happened with them or their careers, and of course, if they're still alive.
