Heard his score within the film Fury and seemed ok... I don't own any of his soundtracks. Maybe this one will put him on my radar. Has potential to be something different, hopefully.
I own nothing by Price but for some reason excited for this.
You haven't heard anything from him? Maybe that explains it... if you did, you wouldn't be all that "excited" for more from him
Granted, GRAVITY is one of the more inexplicable Best Score wins of recent memory (there, I said it), but the subject matter just has to inspire him to something interesting. I just know it does.
I had wondered if Price would be dropped like Grigerov was from Tarzan or Beck was from Terminator. Thrilled he avoided studio scrutiny & ended up on board.
Given the previous work together on Fury, I am eagerly awaiting to hear this (the only other scores by SP I've encountered are The World's End & Gravity, and both were interesting).
I thought his score to Gravity fit the film like a glove, but I keep reading disparaging comments about it on this message board. Probably one of those love it/hate it instances.
I'm intrigued about this one. Hopefully it takes the new DC universe away from Zimmer and co. I enjoyed the Dark Knight scores, but let's give someone else a go. It reminds me of the ubiquitous Elfman superhero scores immediately after Spider-Man. He did a good job, but he's not the only one who can.
Everybody's whose basing their opinions about Price's music solely on Gravity and/or Fury really ought to give his score for the BBC docu The Hunt a listen. Tremendous and beautiful stuff!
I second that. When I first read about the movie I was intrigued, but if the character designs are any indication of the film's content it's going to be yet another stinker.

Look everybody! It's the Joker: EXTREME!
They all look like they need to go to the corner store and knock back a few Mountain Dews or Monsters.
Yes, The Hunt is a classic orchestral score, great stuff.
I know nothing of Price, not the film's director David Ayer, so I say this in complete ignorance, but... considering the style of this film, and its target demographic, I doubt we'll be getting anything like THE HUNT.
