I love Mr. Robot so it's a pleasure that they (almost certainly) used our FSM CD to needle drop the "Commission and Main Title" into the season 2 premiere. More here:

I didn't think of it as 'brainwashing,' but more of a provoked response to groups of images in a spectrum ranging from pleasant personal homeliness to unpleasant social discord and moral taboo, coalesced in such as way so as to lend bias in a shift from accepted norms being back to back with extremes of violence. A pretty good view of perhaps the mindset that accepts gun culture as the perceived norm.

It's a classic statement wrapped up as art. I don't actually watch any TV, so Mr. Robot doesn't mean a thing to me.

DAMMITT LK!

I wanted to be the first one to break this 'news'.
smile

Here is what I was going to post before you beat me to it:

MR. ROBOT featured music from a 70's film in episode one.
It's a pretty obscure film but it was released on FSM (whom I hope received a licencsing fee).
You can hear the music during the scene where the head of E Corp implores the SEC to bail him out

I do not know if the creators chose this piece just because they liked it, or, they were making an inside musical joke.
If the latter, there are probably only a handful of people in America would would get it: Lukas Kendall, Jeff Bond, me, and a few soundtrack nerds on this board!
\\check it out!

They recently used the theme from MISHIMA in an ep.
Not so clever esp. as this music has been used before in other films (TRUMAN SHOW etc)

ALso used Dusty Springfield warhorse "yOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU love mE"
nAH!!!!!!!!!!!

That piano piece from NOVO PIANO I - used in the s.1 finale- seems to be a one-shot brilliant use of source music

Michael Small AND Pino Donaggio!!
I might have to restart watching this programme (I bailed halfway through series one).

Me too. Found Person of Interest to be the much better Hacker Show.

Mr. Robot's well made and does have great music but way too Autistic for my tastes. Uses Tangerine Dream's Risky Business track Love on Real Train pretty effectively.
