Just got back ahead of a rain storm. The Molokai bar was packed since it was a Tuesday (the place is closed Mondays). The Asian Ukulele player mangled several 1960s pop hits but looked so happy pounding down some appetizers afterwards. Our Maiden, Gloria, was from Bulgaria and sported some beautiful tattoos.
Can't believe the Mai-Kai allow so many in wearing shorts. There was one female dressed like a proberbial Hoochy Mama, too.
Drinkswise, I had three Mutinys--again--but will definitely try something else when we get together come July. Had the Fresh Spinach Salad, the Nams, and the chicken wings. Made my usual walk through the gardens and took a photo of some young women at their request.
The young people enjoy the Mai Kai more than the aging Baby Boomers do. Can't wait 'til the latter are extinct. Why they bother to order non-Mai-Kai cocktails will forever baffle me. Plus, their insistence on five separate checks is infuriating...other than that observation, a splendid time was had by all.
Have a Mai-Kai trip planned for next month--December is my favorite time to go as it's even more festive there--for my wife's birthday as well as a work colleague's birthday, too. Looking to try the Zula (#1) along with a repeat performance of the Special Planter's Punch.
