It's unclear whether this is related to the X-Men movie continuity. At first they said no, then I thought they said yes. Who knows.

Anyway, after his solid work for Fargo I'm very curious to see whether Russo has the resources and the interest in crafting an interesting superhero score or what direction they'll go with it.

Russo is doing some outstanding work in the HBO Miniseries "The Night Of", so he's quickly becoming someone whose music I'm looking forward to on TV.

Watched the pilot. Promising but not great episode. The music fit the show but never really stood out as something I'd want to listen to separately.

I'm all worn out on superheroes (was that never that into them in the first place), so even if this may look interesting, I think I have to skip it. At least postpone it untill I get the energy to watch some of this stuff again.

In the first episode at least, there're very few superheroics. I think Hawley has grander ambitions than another superhero team show, and is aiming to hook his Fargo crowd into a more cerebral superpowered drama adventure.

From the pilot, it's more like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest meeting up with A Clockwork Orange and Scanners. Anticipating what will be next from this new series littered with great actors (Dan Stevens, Bill Irwin, Mackenzie Grey, Aubrey Plaza).

Give it a shot, Thor. It's only about superheroes in name. Noah Hawley couldn't be less interested in David's powers except as a playground to explore an abstract and elliptical (read: trippy-as-hell) story about the nature of reality. It's also one of the most visually inventive series you'll ever see.

It may eventually move towards a more traditional narrative about using mutant powers, but even then, it wouldn't really be traditional. Hawley and his writers make clever, gorgeous, sometimes hilarious use of the powers.

Anyway, there are a lot of reasons not to watch this show but being tired of superheroes shouldn't be one of them.

Track 1, Young David, is fast becoming my favourite cue of the year!
Man, how gorgeous it is!
And when those horns come in near the end...sublime!
