Akira Ifukube's score has finally received a complete rerecording. Samples here:

Sounds pretty impressive. This score is, of course, a masterpiece--surprised a full rerecording in good sound has taken this long.

I don't get a lot of re-recordings of classic films scores, but I've had this one on my wishlist for awhile due to Kaoru Wada's involvement. Wada actually studied music composition under Ifukube, so I really like the idea of him being the one conducting the orchestra for this new recording.

According to the Google "translation" of the PR blurb at CDJapan, it was recorded in Osaka by the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra:

What??? I MUST have this... love this score since childhood... I watched the original Godzilla movie and taped the music of the TV set with my cassette tape recorder.

Yes, it was recorded in secion suginami CONCERT HALL.

Well, that's partly because a bunch of idiots in the UK voted to wipe out the value of the pound in trade suicide in return for fake promises and the ability to be aimlessly angry at foreigners. And partly because it costs a lot of money to ship things in the post.

This has been my NUMBER ONE ALL-TIME re-recording request.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The original score is so great yet only the theme has been rerecorded in stereo.
Hopefully, the choral parts are there
