Just wanted to ask if anybody knows if Intrada reduced their number of releases for good or if this is just temporary.

Why not ask Intrada?

It may not be a reduction at all. Labels often have titled up in the air and don't know ehen they'll come out becaused they are waiting on approvals and other things, which might mean four titles in a month or it might mean just one. Perhaps people reading too much into it.

This doesn't make sense. When they usually release 2 titles at a time and then for a few months only release 1 title at a time, that is a reduction, regardless of the reason.

Why not ask Intrada?

The question has already been asked. Go to "View and Opinions" at their website. Check out the thread,"Informing Soundtrack Collectors".

It makes perfect sense. It's not a reduction as in they want to reduce how much they release, but a reduction based upon what they have available to release. It just said that in my paragraph above, in different wording.

In that case why ask again here?
And why post theories if it was already answered?

A reason to ask here: It's the Film Score Monthly Message Board...it's where ALL THINGS FILM MUSIC MAY BE DISCUSSED.

Why does such an innocent and reasonable a question annoy you? It's not like it interrupted the flow of some major contributions by yourselves, is it?

Gentlemen, ask wherever it pleases you. If it pleases you to get a quick answer that Roger has posted already go to the Intrada website and checkout the thread I mentioned above. I find the FSM Message Board and the Intrada website equally very useful.

I was wondering about this too and then this week they announced something expensive is coming. I guess it makes sense to cool things off a few weeks ahead.
Perhaps there'll be a big CD club batch the day before!

I don't know about anything like a "big CD club batch, but your first sentence sounds right on to me.

Oh I dunno, two releases a month seems about right to me with sales dipping a bit & titles being harder to come by...except action scores of the 80s & 90s, seems like lots of them!

If they can do it and stay fiscally "healthy", I prefer 2 releases every 2 weeks. In short , it doesn't matter what we want. It's all up to the Intrada people. My gratitude to them for keeping the 40's, 50's and 60's alive even in these troubled times of slipping sales figures.

Hey guys, calm down. If I would have known the "Informing Soundtrack Collectors" thread on the Intrada website I wouldn`t have asked. Thanks for the information anyway.
