WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17 CLUE---20th Century Fox remake of the 1985 movie based on the Hasbro game is underway. The original movie starred Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Lesley Ann Warren, Martin Mull and Eileen Brennan. ARRIVAL--poster released for the sci fi movie starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. THE MONSTER SQUAD---Shane Black was asked if he's still interested in a sequel to the 1987 movie he co-wrote with its 30th anniversary approaching, “It would be interesting to have two movies – one THE MONSTER SQUAD, and one THE MONSTER SQUAD and they’re 30 years apart and so are the kids; the characters have aged. As long as people understood that’s what we’re doing, I think that could be fun. That’s a good idea!” He added, “The first thing I go to is the movie, or the book really, IT by Stephen King, which is about kids who fight monsters when they’re young, then as grown-ups they’re sort of beckoned and they have to return to their childhood hometown. I don’t know how [THE MONSTER SQUAD sequel] would distance [itself] from that.” THE WALKING DEAD---Andrew Lincoln commented on negative fan reaction to Season 6's cliffhanger involving Negan, "...obviously we don’t want a divided reaction every time we do something as a season finale because then we’d start to be concerned but we value and respect everybody’s opinion because without it we wouldn’t be here. I sort of keep out of the online stuff. I don’t do any social media. I don’t read reviews, because you can’t just take the good stuff. You have to take the bad stuff as well, and I don’t want to engage in that.” He added that fans want to know if he is killed by Negan in the cliffhanger, “Every time I leave my house…everybody’s going, “Please tell me. Just tell me. Just whisper, who is it? Is it you? Why are you in England at the moment? What are you doing here? Why are you not working or filming?”… It’s hilarious. Absolutely insane. So, part of me just goes, well, it’s people talking for a considerable amount of time. Whether you love it or hate it, it has kept people talking.” FANTASTIC FOUR---Jeremy Slater said his original script for the 2015 movie was less dark than the rewritten version, “In addition to Annihilus and the Negative Zone, we had Doctor Doom declaring war against the civilized world, the Mole Man unleashing a 60 foot genetically-engineered monster in downtown Manhattan, a commando raid on the Baxter Foundation, a Saving Private Ryan-style finale pitting our heroes against an army of Doombots in war-torn Latveria, and a post-credit teaser featuring Galactus and the Silver Surfer destroying an entire planet. We had monsters and aliens and Fantasticars and a cute spherical H.E.R.B.I.E. robot that was basically BB-8 two years before BB-8 ever existed. And if you think all of that sounds great…well, yeah, we did, too. The problem was, it would have also been massively, MASSIVELY expensive.” HOLMES AND WATSON---Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will star in this Sony Pictures Sherlock Holmes spoof movie. MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.---Mallory Jansen (GALAVANT) will play Aida, the first Life Model Decoy. THE FLASH---Cyborg will appear in the movie. A STAR IS BORN---Lady Gaga will co-star in the latest remake movie. Bradley Cooper is the star/director. MR. ROBOT---USA Network renewed the series for Season 3. FEUD---Catherine Zeta-Jones will play Olivia de Havilland in the FX anthology series about the feud between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis while filming WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? Jessical Lange and Susan Sarandon star. VARSITY BLUES---tv series underway based on the 1999 high school football movie that starred James Van Der Beek, Paul Walker, Jon Voight and Amy Smart. ALIAS GRACE---Anna Paquin stars in this Netflix miniseries based on the book set in 1843 when Grace Marks, an Irish immigrant maid, and a stablehand team up to murder their employer and his lover/housekeeper. THE NUTCRACKER---Keira Knightley will play the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Walt Disney Pictures live action movie.

"HOLMES AND WATSON---Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will star in this Sony Pictures Sherlock Holmes spoof movie" ------------------------------------- MIS-STEP BROTHERS!! Sounds Horrible! You're right, it does. I look forward to prolonged scenes of obvious and not very funny ad-libbing that descend into swearing pretty quickly. But a comedy Holmes can work! Without A Clue is great. Though that does have Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley on good form.
