THE HUNGER---20th Century Fox movie underway based on the upcoming Alma Katsu novel about the infamous 1846-1847 Donner Party with a "WALKING DEAD-style twist". 87 pioneers set out for California, but after encountering extremely difficult conditions in which some members died, the survivors resorted to cannibalism. Luke Scott, son of Ridley Scott, is the director/writer.

THE WALKING DEAD---Jeffrey Dean Morgan commented on fan criticism of the Season 6 Negan cliffhanger, “I can’t stress enough that if you were one of those people who were like, ‘Oh, f***ing cliffhanger,’ you’re going to be really wishing that the cliffhanger had never ended after the first episode back. So, be careful what you wish for.”
MOTHERLAND---new tv series underway set in an alternate history America in which three centuries before, witches avoided persecution by agreeing to fight for their country. In the present, three young witches are drafted into the Army for "combat magic" training which will be used to fight terrorism. Adam McKay and Will Ferrell are co-producers.
THOR: RAGNAROK---Natalie Portman commented on if she's returning for the sequel, “As far as I know, I’m done. I don’t know if, maybe, one day they’ll ask for an AVENGERS 7 or whatever. I have no idea! But as far as I know I’m done.”
THE AVENGING SILENCE---Nicolas Winding Refn movie underway inspired by DR. NO and NOVA EXPRESS. The script is by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (DIE ANOTHER DAY, CASINO ROYALE).
IN THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS: THE LIFE AND EXTRAORDINARY AFTERLIFE OF HP LOVECRAFT---new biography of HP Lovecraft will be published in September.
GOING PLACES--THE BIG LEBOWSKI spinoff movie is reportedly underway starring John Turturro, Bobby Cannavale, Susan Sarandon and Audrey Tautou. The spinoff is based on the French movie LES VALSEUSES which is about two petty criminals who encounter a woman seeking her first orgasm.
THE FEMALE BRAIN---Sofia Vergara and James Marsden will star in the movie based on the book.
MARVEL'S RUNAWAYS---Hulu tv pilot underway based on the DC Comics superhero comic book. The writers are the GOSSIP GIRL team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
EMPRESS---13-part miniseries underway about Wu Zetian, the only empress of China (618-906 AD). Christopher Newman (GAME OF THRONES) is the producer.
THE AFTERMATH---Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgard are in talks to star in this movie based on the novel set in post-World War II Germany in which a British colonel and his wife move to Hamburg to stay with a German widower and his disturbed daughter.
