Not from Q's film music catalogue. "Billie Jean" is the second single from Michael Jackson's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). It was written by Jackson and produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones. Performed at last night's concert by Cory Henry and Jacob Collier.

What a bizarre version. Yes, the song has been performed millions of times over the years, so I can understand the desire to do something new. But I've never been a fan of taking the arrangements and interpretations TOO far. I think this went too far. I hated the vocoders too.
Oh, well. I'd be interested to see this whole show, if it's available anywhere.
Seems to be mimicking and elevating the non-vocal mouthing technique for which Jackson was renowned. I much prefer the start of his phenomenon, when he'd sing more cleanly in initial solo albums, such as Off The Wall. The heavy use of personal non-vocals increased as time wore on and became more irritating and frivolous. The work Jackson did with Jones marked the epitome of the best of his output, IMHO.
