FRIDAY, AUGUST 26

HAN SOLO---Donald Glover (COMMUNITY) commented on rumors he will play the young Lando Calrissian in the young Han Solo spinoff movie, “Yep. There are rumors....I mean, I grew up on it. My dad was a big fan. I had all the toys when I was little. I had a Darth Vader with the lightsaber he has. It was cool. It’s a dynasty. It’s like the bible. I love that franchise.”





CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR---co-director Joe Russo commented on Steve Rogers and his future as Captain America in future Marvel movies, "I think him dropping that shield is him letting go of that identity...[It's] him admitting that certainly the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making."

DEADPOOL 2---Mackenzie Davis (THE MARTIAN) commented on reports she will play Domino in the sequel, "No! [laughs]It's very interesting."
She added "People keep sending me printouts being like, 'This is so cool!' and I'm like, 'Right?' I also think it's cool! But it's not true!...I mean. I'd love to keep the ruse going. It's sort of cool that people think I'm doing DEADPOOL. but no! I don't have any news to share. I wish I did!"





SWEET, SWEET LONELY GIRL---photo and synopsis released for the gothic horror movie.

Erin Wilhelmi (THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER) plays Adele, a shy and lonely farm girl. When Adele comes to town to care for her elderly, agoraphobic aunt (Susan Kellermann), she meets the worldly, self-possessed Beth (Quinn Shephard), and friendship blooms. Adele encounters dark forces in both Beth whose cynical, weary world view belies her youthful appearance, and Aunt Dora whose strange command over her house extends beyond the confines of her locked attic room."





DEATH WISH---Vincent D'Onofrio (JURASSIC WORLD) and Dean Norris (BREAKING BAD) will co-star with Bruce Willis in the remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson vigilante movie. D'Onofrio will play the brother of Willis's character, and Norris will play Detective Rains.

THE WALKING DEAD---executive producer Gale Anne Hurd commented on Negan in Season 7, “In this new season Negan is the gamechanger, and whatever we did someone was going to be unhappy… so we promised we will be picking up where that left off; we are not going to draw it out."

I SPY---Fox pilot underway for a loose remake of the NBC spy series that starred Robert Culp and Bill Cosby.

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH---Sam Mendes (SKYFALL) is in talks to direct the Walt Disney Pictures live action remake of its 1996 movie.

NUTCRACKER---Helen Mirren is in talks to play Mother Ginger in the Walt Disney Pictures live action movie.

INNER CITY---Denzel Washington is in talks to star in this courtroom drama movie in which a lawyer at an ambulance-chasing law firm fills in for his boss when gets sick.

DOCTOR STRANGE---Brother Voodoo and Tina Minoru will have brief appearances in the movie.

OCEAN'S EIGHT---Sarah Paulson (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) is in talks to co-star with Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway in the spinoff movie.

NEW MUTANTS---the script for the X-Men spinoff movie will be written by the duo of Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (THE FAULT IN OUR STARS).

ROCK THAT BODY---Demi Moore will co-star with Scarlett Johansson in this R-rated Sony Pictures comedy movie about five girlfriends who rent a Miami beach house for fun, but their plans go awry.

KODACHROME---Ed Harris, Jason Sudeikis and Elizabeth Olsen star in this movie described as “a record label boss who embarks on a road trip across the U.S. in order to fulfill his father’s dying wish and have a roll of Kodachrome film developed, only to find there’s just one remaining shop accepting them.”

If this happens, we will need Danny DeVito or Stephen Herek (or some previous regular collaborator) to remake it AGAIN so David Newman can score it and complete the (Newman) trilogy.

Cap's "very personal choice" wouldn't have come off as such had the filmmakers muscled up the courage to faithfully adapt Civil War's premise as it was told in the comics. I still loved the film, though.
