Director Paul Verhoeven’s original RoboCop (1987) featured one of Basil Poledouris’ most famous themes and beloved scores. Though he wasn’t on board for Irvin Kershner’s 1990 sequel RoboCop 2, Basil did return for the third installment of the hit franchise with director Fred Dekker’s RoboCop 3 in 1993. On the heels of our massive Starship Troopers Deluxe Edition, we are thrilled to present another special release from our dearly-missed friend.

It's Megacop vs. Megacop when Detroit's cyborg crime-fighter hits the streets to protect the innocent, this time from corporate greed! Laced with a sardonic sense of humor and packed with action scenes coming at a deliberate clip, RoboCop 3 is a thrilling sci-fi adventure that will have you on the edge of your seat! When the ruthless corporation that runs Motor City begins kicking families out of their homes to clear space for a profitable new real estate project, RoboCop (Robert John Burke, Copland) joins forces with a renegade band of freedom fighters to save them. But RoboCop must face some deadly foes, including a lethally efficient android and a dangerous gang of thugs. RoboCop's latest arsenal of high-tech weaponry only somewhat evens the battlefield as this one lone superhero takes on the entire army of corporate militia in an all-out war to control Detroit!

Semi-regretting spending all my money on Pino Donaggio albums this month.

Great news. I really hope UNDER SIEGE 2, ON DEADLY GROUND and... ROBOCOP 2 will follow in the near future. Everybody wants US2, but ON DEADLY GROUND has some incredible unreleased stuff and it's one of Basil's best scores IMHO.

Well, it's certainly better than the live-action TV show and the movie which got a more accurate name from Mad:

I hope so. I love Monster Squad, Night of the Creeps and his Tales from the Crypt work.

I really like the TV show. I think it nailed the satire better than ROBOCOP 3 and it had some impressive FX and stunts.

I'll take a score release from that if anyone's listening as well.

2000 copies?! I'll have to purchase this soon. And unfortunately I still haven't gotten around to purchasing the deluxe editions of Starship Troopers and Volcano. Dang!

Also just like the deluxe edition of Starship Troopers they included the tracked in end credits of for some reason. Hopefully a deluxe edition of Robo 2 is also in the works.

I have the original CD and find it perfectly fine.
The movie itself is pretty bad, much like Robocop 2.

Hah! My high school friend Pete played Robocop's son on that show.

I ordered this and Jagged Edge. Don't really care about Hellboy.

I'm crazy for the original RoboCop score, but never caught the movie or score on this one.

Someone give it to me straight: Is this score comparable to the original RoboCop score? Is it enjoyable as an extension of the first score? Is the creative progression on this one similar to the Conan the Barbarian-to-Conan the Destroyer progression?

How good is it?
