When will the next film music concert be playing in either New York or Boston? I live about 2 hrs from Boston and 3 hours from New York (city). I have only ever been to one in New York, the inaugural one of the Filmharmonic Orchestra, which no longer exists, with Jerry Goldsmith. It was great!! I would love to see a concert of the style they do in Europe, trying to pretty faithfully recreate the sound of the scores, not just the tune. Honestly, I'd like to see any film music in concert!
I would imagine John Williams will do his usual two-night Film Music concerts with the Boston Pops again next May, and probably again in August at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA. It's pretty much a yearly event. The Pops will probably do a film music night even if Williams himself can't make it; those are pretty much guaranteed sellouts.
I'm going to the Elfman concert at the Hartford Symphony on Oct.22. Elfman won't be there and that's fine by me. I don't want all the hoopla just want to hear the music.
