I always wanted to, but my parents - probably wisely always said no...

No, but it looks terrible. Don't think that was ever available here in Norway (when is it from, like the 80s?).

I HAVE eaten real turtles, though. It was back when I did my TV show in 2006, and we went to Brazil. When we visited a native tribe in the Amazon, turtle was on the menu (and we ate the meat straight from the shell!), along with crocodile, guinnea pig and other local delicacies.

Man, what a difference one letter could make.

These were available in the late 80s. We used to live near the US border and do our groceries on the weekends there. Always saw these...Mom always said NO.

Those things look like Hostess's regular vanilla pudding pies with green food coloring used in the crust/icing. In that case I have had the Hostess vanilla pudding pies minus the green food coloring. I don't know if that counts. As for how they tasted, as a much, much younger person I enjoyed them. I can't imagine wanting to try one today. Like pretty much all Hostess products, it is something best remembered rather than something I would ever want to eat today.

Eating a live turtle is just wrong, especially when you do it for ratings, Thor. smile

I know. And it wasn't particularly good. But didn't want to offend the natives.

It's comes out of the package green and moldy. How do you know if it's gone bad? confused

Check the expiration date before you buy it, smell it before you eat it. wink

But seriously people, aren't these just standard Hostess vanilla pudding pies with green dye put in the outer icing? Sheeeeesh, get a grip....

If their shelf life is anything like twinkies, we will all expire before they do. wink
