Is any of you familiar with this Greek movie and its score? I think both the movie and its music are great. I haven't been familiar with Kostas Christides, the composer, but listen to this suite from the score and you can get an impression of his talent:
I've never heard of this score, or composer... But this is GREAT. Begins with a very Desplat-type sound, but as the sweeping strings come in... Man, this one's a real winner! Thanks for sharing, I'm very impressed and will be seeking the full score out. Looks like the composer has been orchestrating for Chris Young and a few others for almost twenty years now, but this is the first I've heard of him.
Picked this up on iTunes and I've been listening to it all day. Not *every* cue is my cup of tea (there are a number of Thomas Newman-y echoey piano bits I zoned out for) but the thematic orchestral portions, which are never too far away, are just great. I really hope we hear more from Christides. He really knows his stuff.
I was very lucky recently to receive three of Kostas Christides’ CDs and ‘Worlds Apart’ was one of them. The CD opens with several song selections but when the score hits on Track 8 it is a real ‘Wow’ moment. This is a really beautiful score and is produced fantastically. It is a really immersive listening experience with many different flavours and it warms the soul. Many highlights, but Track 15 (Journeys) and 18 (Allured by Seductive Emotions) are particularly lovely. Kostas is a gem of a composer ripe for discovery if you have not come across his compositions before, and I hope he gets some high profile projects in the near future.
The other two CDs were music from the movie ‘If…’ and the short film ‘Dinner for Few’. Both of these scores are quite different from ‘Worlds Apart’, especially the short, showing a diverse spread to Mr Christides composing talents.

Worlds Apart (movie and score) definitely deserves more attention. You may find it difficult to see the (VERY good) movie, but hearing the wonderful score on YouTube is one click away.
