I remember when Peter Bogdanovich hosted The Tonight Show, sitting in for Johnny Carson. If I recall correctly, his guests were cast members from a few of his films; Burt Reynolds was one. But I'm having trouble recalling anyone else. I stopped in at YouTube to try to find this…it isn't posted there.
Interesting. I've been collecting classical music album cover images (mainly from Discogs) over the past few months, and branched out into some Blue Note jazz covers this month.
Now, call me foolish, call me irresponsible, but it occurs to me that if most things aren't funny, Dickinson, then they're only exactly what they are; then it's one long dental appointment, interrupted occasionally by something exciting, like WAITING or FALLING ASLEEP.
That being said, I am at the library and am checking out She's Funny That Way.
Ha! Tricked you! That movie actually sucks!!! No, seriously (?), be sure to post your eventual capsule review in this thread.
Yoo-Hoo, Viscount Bark! Are you ready 6+ years later for my ultra-"eventual capsule review?" I don't know what happened back then but I didn't see it. Wonder if the DVD was damaged. Whatever, I went back to the same library the other day and checked it out--again. ANYWAY, watched it this evening for the first time ever. What a riot! Bogdanovich channeled his inner Howard Hawks in scenes with lightning-quick dialogue. With a touch of Woody Allen. This thing was LOL outrageously funny. And definitely a solid zany follow-up to the marvelous and relatively subdued They All Laughed in comparison. Sensational cast. And enjoyed the Edward Shearmur score with its Midnight In Paris overtones.
