BP reteamed with NO MAN'S LAND director Peter Werner for this 1992 TV movie western starring Daniel Baldwin.
The biggest shame about it all is hearing some lovely ideas and themes sounding like keyboard mock-ups, due to the restricted budget.
You can almost hear the lush symphonic execution this would have gotten if it had been a bigger project!
Instead, synth strings and percussion effects try to emulate the style we were treated to in things like Lonesome Dove and Quigley Down Under.
It's not that far removed from The Legend of Butch & Sundance, another BP score that feels undernourished due to it's budget restrictions.
Such a shame that great musical ideas herein all suffer from that 'sameness' sound of the synth/keyboard.
Anyone else familiar with this score?

Yeah, it's a shame there isn't more of a market for rerecordings. Look at what James Fitzpatrick was able to do for all three Conan scores, restoring instruments that Basil intended but weren't available for the film sessions. Now imagine restoring an entire orchestra where Basil wanted one. I would buy a new orchestral recording of this or Butch & Sundance in a heartbeat. (And since he wasn't entirely pleased with the orchestra performance on Lonesome Dove, to the point of leaving much of it unreleased, how about a complete new recording of that too, while we're dreaming?)
