INDIANA JONES 5---writer David Koepp (JURASSIC PARK, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL) said George Lucas is apparently not involved with the sequel, “He’s not (involved), to my knowledge. I’ve had no contact with him.” Koepp said he and Steven Spielberg created the plot.
Koepp said, tongue-in-cheek, the sequel plot involves, “All I can say is that there’s lots of aliens and Indy dies at the end (laughs). Lots of hiding in lead-lined refrigerators, aliens, and he dies. Should go over very well.”
THE WALKING DEAD---director Greg Nicoteros commented on fans threatening to boycott the zombie series after the brutal and gory deaths of two popular characters by Negan, “I would say that [their threat] means we have done something to affect these people in a way that they don’t necessarily know how to process. Listen… I’ve been shocked at the turns of events on [GAME OF THRONES]. But you know what? I still love it. And I’m still committed to seeing where that story goes.
So I think it’s a knee-jerk reaction that people have, because they care about these characters. That’s a tribute to every single actor on our show that has perished. It’s unfortunate that people want to take a negative spin on it… [and especially] if that’s really what’s going to happen [and they’ll stop watching], because the show still has a lot to offer!”
Also, a leaked alternate trailer shows Negan killing Maggie. It's been speculated that the trailer was leaked deliberately to throw fans off from the real victims.

ALIEN: COVENANT---Michael Fassbender said the Xenomorph Aliens in COVENANT will be called Neomorphs.
Sources released supposedly official information on the Neomorphs, “These Aliens are the result of the local ecosystem being mutated by the accelerant/black goo. Over time, pods started to grow on the trees and the ground, and release a spore when disturbed.
These spores infect several members of the Covenant crew by entering the body through the ear and nostrils. The spores cause the growth of the Neomorphs inside the infected hosts – something that is reminiscent of William Gibson’s first draft of Alien 3.
One of the Neomorphs bursts from the back of one of the infected crew, a “backburster”. The other crew member’s Neomorph erupts through their throat. The births are preceded by the eruption of two small dorsal spikes. These spikes and a pointed skull are also used to break out of an embryonic sack (similar to the Deacon in Prometheus).
The Neomorph resembles some of the older concept art of the proto-Aliens from Prometheus...specifically the white colouration, with a pointed head and two dorsal spines. Upon birth, the Neomorphs move on all fours similar to the Bambi-burster from Alien 3.
When they mature, they grow significantly larger and walk on their back legs. They were more animal-like in behaviour with fang-like teeth. Unlike the earlier Prometheus concepts, the Neomorphs also have tails. In addition, the adult Neomorphs also developed a slightly translucent appearance (harkening back to unused concepts from Alien and Prometheus) as previously rumored.”

DEADPOOL 2---a fan has started an online petition requesting that Quentin Tarantino be hired to replace the departed Tim Miller as the sequel's director, "If there was ever a chance to see Tarantino do a project almost guaranteed to make a billion dollars, this is it. We got a great taste of what this could be like in 'Kill Bill', but imagine having a guy like Tarantino write dialogue for 'The Merc with the Mouth'! It would be so glorious. Join me!"
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII---Daisy Ridley said Rey's parents will revealed in EPISODE VIII. She denied rumors that Jyn Erso from ROGUE ONE is Rey's mother, “I mean, I think historically it wouldn’t work, because she is… Darth Vader is there… so she would ultimately be my great-grandma; no, she would be my grandma. I mean, it could happen, especially in a galaxy far, far away.”
SNEAKERS---NBC tv series underway based on the 1992 NSA heist movie that starred Robert Redford, Dan Ackroyd, Sidney Poitier and River Phoenix.
VAN HELSING---writer Eric Heisserer (ARRIVAL) confirmed the movie will part of the Universal Pictures reboot of its classic monsters, “It is [part of the shared universe] right now. This is early in the process, and it’s evolutionary. I don’t know if that’s going to stay that way. But right now there is an absolute… there’s some cartilage that links it to other pieces, like THE MUMMY."
UNDER SUSPICION---CBS tv series underway based on the crime novels.
HOUSE OF CARDS---Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott have joined the cast in undisclosed roles for Season 5.
SHIELD OF STRAW---Luc Besson remake underway of the Japanese movie about five policemen assigned to protect a murder suspect from the victim's billionaire grandfather who put out on a contract on the suspect.
WEAVEWORLD---CW tv series underway based on the Clive Barker horror novel.
PETER RABBIT---Margot Robbie is in negotiations to provide a bunny's voice in the live-action/CGI movie.

I just watched the season 7 premiere of "The Walking Dead" and first, I have to say this show has never appealed to me, second, that I tried to stay with it for it's first two seasons, but it became pointless for me very quickly. Watching this episode only makes me wonder more than ever why this show has the following it has. It seems to me to have lost all imagination.
Never seen a single episode. Not into gore porn.
I think it is exactly that, gore porn, and like porn -- which is all the same -- how much of it can you watch? What's the thrill in watching rotting corpses walking around and getting their heads taken off? I just don't get it, and now the show doesn't even seem to care about that anymore, the walking dead just being background now. It's going to be a season on how the group gets their revenge on Negan. It's stale because you know that eventually Negan will get his -- and hard.
Maybe I'll watch the last episode of the season, but I have a feeling they'll pad it out to yet another season.

I'm one of those who has followed all the seasons of The Walking Dead, and I've really liked the show. There were times when I was frustrated with a few story lines and thought the network was just padding the show with fillers, but eventually the series paid off with some good drama. I think one of its better qualities is that viewers have learned to CARE about the main survivalists.
However, I hated the new opening show. Of course I tuned in to see who Negan would kill and was treated to an hour of seriously OVER THE TOP and beyond comprehension violence. It has always been violent and I was okay with it, and it was scary. Sunday night's opening just went on too long and was too violent. I will stick with it if it levels back out to a narrative about how to get back at Negan.
(Spoilers ahead. I do get that Negan had to break Rick and his group to maintain control and to stop a future uprising, but it was too violent. Sometimes not seeing something is better and scarier.)
Final observations. The music was great and at times very heartfelt. I was impressed.
Also, here is my analogy of Negan. He made Bruce Dern in The Cowboys look like Mary Poppins.
It was disgusting. The moment in question, the death of a popular main character, was treated as a special effects moment. What SHOULD have been a sad, tragic, heartbreaking moment, instead focused on gore. There was NO emotion, it was "wow, look at that prosthetic device, how'd they do that? " . It was pointless and mean spirited.
It should have been a moment that had us in tears, not with churning stomachs.
As the brutal beating continued, they focused on the pile of brains, blood, and pulp.
You know, pardon my language, but Greg Nicotero, fuck you. That was a moment that should have been ALL ABOUT CHARACTER AND LOSS AND HORROR, but no...you made it about nothing but torture porn. Rationalize it all you want, but that episode perfectly sums up everything that has been wrong about TWD for the last few seasons.
It shows a complete disregard for the integrity of the show's drama, the character, the actor, and the audience. So, show runner Scott Gimple and Nicotero, you've lost a viewer.
They can rationalize all they want, but, it was an incredibly wrong moment.

erm...ahem...porn? quite a bit actually. But never more than Six, maybe seven... nights a week.

Agree, I am not into it either, zombies, gore like so many low rent horror movies and gross outs, terrible.
But it seems very popular, so that means popular tastes are pretty terrible. People accept an awfulness that would have been out of the question just 5 or 10 years ago.

I would like to thank the people now running the old Lucasfilm properties, as they've killed any lasting interest I could have and will now save my money.
(Doesn't help that David Knoepp is writing it. He's godawful.)
Have to agree with you about having less than zero interest in Indy V. After the totally awful Crystal Skull (a poorly made, poorly written and poorly acted movie seemingly made by a bunch of people who had perhaps read Lucas and Kaufman's initial treatment for Raiders and were trying to assemble a movie based around that, without having actually seen any of the movies) my desire to see another Indiana Jones film is roughly equivalent to how much I look forward to getting haemorrhoids, cataracts and rheumatism in later life.
The thing about Koepp is that sometimes he can turn in a half decent screenplay. He knocked it out of the park (groan) with Jurassic Park and the first Spider-Man movie wasn't too bad. But his script for Crystal Skull was beyond bad, Frank Darabont's original pass at it was far superior but then, quite honestly, I've read fan-penned Indy screenplays that understood the character, and included better set pieces, that Koepp's risible attempt.
I could write a book on all that is wrong with Crystal Skull but if I were to say it's a piece of shit from beginning to end, that about sums it up.

Whoa...loads of negativity here!
Unlike most everyone else, I don't really have an issue with the gore in the DEAD premiere. It's a very visceral show, so it belongs to the universe. I have more issues with the one main character they killed off, because it seemed like sloppy writing (it does, in fact, counter previous assertions made in the first season), and inserted more for shock effect. That also applies to the same sequence in the comic book from 2012, btw.
But fantastic intensity in the episode, probably the best since the first couple of seasons when everything was new and fresh. Bodes well for the rest of the season! Big fan!

He, he...cute. I belong to the few who actually like a lot of stuff in INDY IV, but I wonder why they're still going with Koepp after the debacle last time. Wouldn't a new writer provide a fresh take on this?
