In case where you can understand French, here's a recent broadcast featuring producer Stéphane Lerouge elaborating on the Q. Jones anthology. It's really worth it:
Will someone post a review of this set--particularly on THE ITALIAN JOB and how it compares to earlier versions of THE ITALIAN JOB?
Comparing The Italian Job the older release now sounds very muffled in comparison especially the base the new release sounds so much crisper and sharp.

And Walk Don't Run is sublime - especially when compared to the Mainstream atrocity. Totally on the same level as Intrada's "AVA" Bernstein set of Mainstream recordings.

Although I do own a previous CD version of THE ITALIAN JOB I haven't compared it with this release so I can't offer any opinion on that. But I can say that everything in this set sounds excellent, the selections are great, the booklet's generous and informative (Q's film-music mentors were Mancini, Benny Carter & Armando Trovajoli), and, as OB said above, the price is right!
If you do make a comparison between the old and new versions of THE ITALIAN JOB, I hope you post your review here. I have the original MCA sound track and was wondering if the new version has a better audio quality than the original version.

I'd be happy to do so dragon53 but I'm about to be unavailable for a month or longer [cue FSM applause], so it would have to be after that. Someone else will probably beat me to it.
I can't imagine you'd be disappointed with the set, though, even without a comparison. Even if you already have everything but the unreleased bits.
McKenna's Gold has all way's been available to cd.. pick up the Tsunami edition, its a shame I have over half these scores on box-set, if I didn't have the Pawnbroker already, I would of bought it, that's a great score.
I recently acquired this set and was very pleased. The sound quality is excellent. My favorite score is THE DEADLY AFFAIR. I'm a sucker for bossa nova stuff.
Thanks. If no one else posts a review, I'll wait for yours.
dragon53, did anyone ever provide a comparison of THE ITALIAN JOB for you? I'm looking for my standalone release but I won't bother with a comparison if someone else has already done the work.
