FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28

BILLY LYNN'S LONG HALFTIME WALK---trailer released for the Ang Lee movie.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veoPig2LJDU

ALIEN: COVENANT---photos from the set show creatures from the sequel which David has amassed in an abandoned Engineer Temple.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY---Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) seeks to rescue her father, Galen Erso, who helped develop the Death Star, but now has regrets over his accomplishment. Director Gareth Edwards commented on Jyn, “Events take place that just shatter her life and send her off to basically be raised as a soldier in the midst of a war. She ends up not the person she was supposed to be. Even though we’re not telling the story of Luke Skywalker, it was important to me that we capture the same themes and emotion. But the film doesn’t unfold how you think. It’s not the same path as Star Wars.”
Also, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY released two new photos of Jyn.

DEADPOOL 2---director David Leitch (JOHN WICK) is the "strong frontrunner" to replace the departed Tim Miller as the sequel's director.

CAPTAIN AMERICA---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige was asked about future Captain America movies without Steve Rogers, “It’s a good question and if we look back at the comic books as our inspiration and as the well from which this all springs, then the answer is “no.” I’m not saying we’ll do it in the movie but I’ve read Captain America comics that don’t have Steve Rogers in them.”
Feige also commented on a future crossover between Marvel and 20th Century Fox superheroes, "Well, it’s the same as it has always been. I don’t want to attribute it as a frozen wasteland or anything like that. We all get along and I see them occasionally but there’s no change in any dynamic.“

SOLDADO---Catherine Keener has joined the SICARIO sequel cast as the boss of CIA agent Matt Graver (James Brolin).

SHERLOCK HOLMES 3---the sequel has a writers group which includes Nicole Perlman (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY), Justin Malen (BAYWATCH), Garry Whitta (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY), Geneva Dworet-Robertson (TOMB RAIDER) and Kieran Fitz (SNOWDEN). Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Guy Ritchie are expected to return.

FARGO---Jim Gaffigan will play police deputy Donny Mashman in Season 3.

BYE BYE BIRDIE LIVE!---Jennifer Lopez will play Rosie in the NBC live musical based on the Broadway musical.

THE WHITE DEVIL---horror movie underway starring Cameron Monaghan (GOTHAM) as a US high school student who enrolls in an exclusive British boys school where he is stalked by the ghost of a former student.

COSMERE---movie franchise underway based on the novel series. The first movie is based on THE WAY OF THE KINGS with a script to be written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (SAW).

WORTH---Roddenberry entertainment movie underway based on the graphic novel.

WILL & GRACE ---talks underway for a resurrection of the sitcom which might be offered to NBC and Netflix.

Those (aborted?) ALIEN creatures remind me of ALIEN: RESSURECTION.

As annoying as it was, I think I preferred his hobby of doing film character impersonations while rollerskating in the initial prequel. Something about collecting baby alien corpses reminds me of fake alien autopsies. How can I take him seriously now?

The Hollywood politicking machine at it's best. It's different but the same. It's the same but different.

Why? Because the cast needs work? After the first few seasons, I began to loathe every character on the show, and stopped watching.

I made a political comment? I made a joke based on what something looks like based on what someone else said which everyone knows about. There was nothing political about it at all. I guess what the problem is is that we're not aloud to mention the name of someone who happens to be running for political office. If so, that just dumb, or is that too political a comment?

And who's reporting about my posts? What's up with that? I've never reported anyone and wouldn't even think of it. I guess there are just some who are really into "policing" others. I'm for freedom of expression, not going around censoring expression. That's the kind of politics that really is bad.

Hey Rory, take it in stride. I understand your pain, but also could see the potential inherent in uttering the self-promotion-machine`s name... thus the cautionary removal by the neighbourhood sheriff.

Oh well.

Actually, I don't much care about it, but since I can't make the joke I wanted to make because it's too current, I guess, I just have to say it more bluntly -- that picture above looks like female genitalia!

But I'm not for censoring it! In fact, would it be OK if I posted a picture of actual female genitalia so everyone can see exactly what I'm talking about?

Oh, I don't know. It sort of reminds me of the Swedish Chef.

Looks too much like. It's not so much rude as a bit crass, IMO. The original design was more slyly suggestive and demanded a tad more work from the individual viewer to make the subliminal connection. Thus it reached deeper, perhaps.

But that's modern Hollywood for you: "all solutions and no clues" as the UK author Dennis Potter once wrote.

And that's the problem with Hollywood in a nut shell. Everything is in your face. No nuance, no imagination.

I agree. The snaggle-toothed Alien obviously needs braces.

Like Ingrid Pitt's tits in the UK's HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD which everyone is raving about in another thread. Take that, Dennis.
