There were some dynamite songs featured in the 5 Seasons of MV. Let's forget the score for a moment, and concentrate on the songs. My favorite songs would be these: Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight Russ Ballard - Voices Phil Collins - I Don't Care Anymore Peter Gabriel - The Rhythm Of The Heat Bryan Ferry - Windswept Phil Collins - Take Me Home Bryan Ferry - Slave To Love Godley & Creme - Cry Mr Mister - Kyrie Propaganda - P Machinery Steve Jones - Mercy Peter Gabriel - Red Rain Peter Gabriel - Mercy Street The Damned - In Dulce Decorum Depeche Mode - Fly On The Windscreen Peter Gabriel - We Do What We're Told Propaganda - Jewel The Mission - Wasteland Shriekback - Underwaterboys Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again Depeche Mode - Pleasure Little Treasure The Truth - The Edge Of Town Billy Idol - Flesh For Fantasy Mr Mister - Stand And Deliver Peter Cetera - You Never Listen To Me The Church - Under The Milky Way Bryan Ferry - Bete Noire Yanni - Keys To Imagination Alan Parsons Project - Paseo De Gracia Song list: http://miamivice.wikia.com/wiki/Music

Yes, KTI is an instrumental, but I still would call it a song and not score. I'm not familiar with that Nugent song.

It was a good series for well-placed and well-chosen music. Enhancing if anything, michael Mann's rep. Im not a big Collins fan but Take Me Home and in the air tonight worked briliantly. Since then the latter has become a bit an over-used cliche, but back then, in miami vice, it was genius. And slave to love was slotted in just right.

I'll have to check out that wiki page to re-discover what Sheena Easton song I liked on the show one night (in first run) but can't remember now. And of course I'm at work now, so I'll have to look into it at home.

Why shouldn't they?

Why shouldn't they? Because many TV shows encounter licensing issues that prevent the use of original pre-existing songs to be used in making the transition from original broadcast to home video release. Well, I have absolutely no reason to believe that happened in Miami Vice.

There are still some shows like Werewolf etc that is still unreleased because of the Music licensing issues, and as MV was heavily on Music and big artists this caused a problem at first. On every new media released VHS, then DVD, then BD etc the owners have to license the Music etc again and that can cost alot.

Russ Ballard - Voices Russ Ballard - In the Night I've started a rewatch of MV and, as is usually the case, songs that didn't strike me on previous watches get under my skin this time. Three years ago, Ferry's "Boys and Girls" was the example - this time it's this pair of Russ Ballard tracks from the Calderone's Return two-parter. I need to hear more of this guy's stuff.
