Just watched the newly released DVD from Shout Factory, and it's a newly remastered new transfer from original elements. Really enjoy Paul Chihara's synth & guitar-heavy score (also blaster beam)...maybe the score recordings survive with Paul and should get a release to cash in on the new film? The music came thru great on the new DVD.

I also picked up this new DVD. I have fond memories of this film and the wild score, had the VHS as well. And it's got John Mills as the ancient one (I know, he's no Tilda Swinton, but still...) and Jessica Walter as Morgan Le Fay - frankly, I think Jessica Walter may really BE Morgan Le Fay!

Haven't cracked it yet but will soon. Very fun for an old failed TV pilot in the early years of Marvel live action (contemporary with Bill Bixby's Hulk and the 70's Spider-man).

This score rocks! Very Tangerine Dreamesque... maybe Dragon's Domain will figure out a way to release this as they have with many other obscure Chihara scores?

Here's an early scene in case no one's heard this...

James Horner studied under Chihara and it seems there was mutual admiration between them. Always wondered what his own music was like.
