At the start of the commentary of Twilight Time's terrific Blu-ray of "Moby Dick", Paul Seydor points out that the Second Unit Director of Photography, Freddie Francis also worked on "Lawrence of Arabia". Wrong Paul, that was, of course, the late great Frederick A. Young..............but you knew that! Blu-ray looks great - recommended.

Yeah I can imagine trying to recall the specific names while recording a commentary one can get flustered while trying to keep up with ones thoughts. It happens from time to time. but I just love Twilight Times commentary tracks they are some of the most enjoyable out there.

In the commentary track on TT's Blu-ray of THE BLUE MAX no less than Jon Burlingame himself repeatedly states that Goldsmith wrote the MAX score just after he did THE SAND PEBBLES. It was the other way around.

Oh, just ignore them, they're being anal. All the threads eventually fall away and no one cares.

In her typically excellent liner notes, Julie Kirgo cites the N. Y. Times' Bosley Crowther as one of the only print critics to appreciate the film. However, I would add that the Herald Tribune's Willkam K. Zinnser found Huston's movie outstanding, one of the year's best, and Saturday Review magazine devoted one of their rare film-related cover stories to MOBY DICK.
