Just ran across this on Amazon digital, the original soundtrack to "Barbarella" apparently from Varese? Sound quality is very good, sharp, and clean.

Also on Qobuz, although that says it's from Universal

Is the it same as the Varese vinyl ?
Is it better than the Harkit release ?

First "Silent Running" and now this forthcoming cd of "Barbarella". I never tire of hearing these two gems. This is fantastic news. Can we get the original Robert McGinnis art on the cover?

Really want to buy the CD release once it comes out....

but I did notice HD tracks has it as a 192/24 Download.

Can anyone comment on its sound quality? I would assume it has great dynamic range and isn't brick walled etc.

Anyone else purchase it?

Great news! Anyone know how the actual content (as opposed to the sound quality for example) will differ, if at all, from the old LP?

Just checked - seems to be the same content as the old LP...

What happened to the link for the hi-res download? I am curious as to the price difference between the physical CD and the hi-res download.

Finally saw this crazy mess of a film and it sure is meant for "adolescent boys", basically a pseudo-porno that screams psychedelic trip. It started kid of as a B-budget exploitation sci-fi flick but pretty rapidly descended into pure camp. Once it hit that point, it actually became entertaining, mainly for the ridiculous ideas it came up with.

The music is entertaining sci-fi exotica that Les Baxter wouldn't be unfamiliar with but those vocal songs were pure kitsch unless the singers weren't as seriously devoted to the material as they sounded to be.

The main reason I saw it was the A VIEW TO A KILL thread which reminded me of Duran Duran who got their name from the villain in the film. So I finally decided to put in the effort.

Kind of reminded me of THE LABYRINTH (and it features a labyrinth).

Probably won't see the film again but the music was entertaining enough and so glad it's still available for digital download:

Not sure if this is FULLY COMPLETE though? Sounds like a few minor cues are missing.
