Horner for me even though Conti is good & I like his music a lot Horner has had far bigger projects on a global scale.

I can't even decide . . . whether or not . . . I can decide.

For me it's like Sheldon on THE BIG BANG THEORY trying to choose a gaming system.

Henry I thought you had near all the Horner scores last time I remembered you needed about 6-7 Horner scores & they were easy scores to find do you want to complete Conti now as well.

Don't feel too bad, Henry. We all have things we're pondering lately. As I recently mentioned in a different thread, I can't decide which is better: THE GODFATHER or THE GODFATHER PART II. wink

Hey, jenk, I just watched Godfather I and II and they are both superb. Perfect movies.

Back to the topic. Henry, I think it is okay not to decide. I have twin daughters and love both EQUALLY. Give equal love to Conti and Horner.

Yeah, man, you don't have to decide, just enjoy.

You might be ready to dig deeper, if you haven't already.

For me, it's Horner all the way -- although Conti once in a while delivers something I really like. But they're really in two different leagues for me.

I can sympathize with henry's predicament, though. Except for John Williams at the top, there is always a slight fluctuation among the favourites. I've played more Zimmer than Elfman & Goldenthal recently, for example -- even though E&G are "ranked" a bit higher on my list.

These things always move in waves.

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.

Yes, the actual "favorite" composer of any given moment is the one I prefer to listen to at any given moment, may be anyone from Mozart to Madonna, depending on the moment.

As far as film composers are concerned, I'm currently listening to a lot of Poledouris, Morricone, and Silvestri... but that's obviously going to change again.

Come on man! You're nearly 40 - time to take responsibility for your own decisions!

Horner was a genius.

It's Horner for me...mainly because he has a larger body of top-notch scores. However, IMHO, neither one of them touches the greatness of Goldsmith, Morricone, E. Bernstein, Rozsa, J. Williams, Fielding, Moross, Herrmann, Waxman, Barry, North, Poledouris, A. Newman, Jarre, Delerue, Korngold, Goodwin, Rosenman, Rosenthal, M. Arnold, Frankel, or even among the newest contemporary composers, Desplat. Zimmer might be a toss-up with Horner...but I'd have to really think about it.

I like both too, it's hard to decide when it comes to these two.
