Ok...
The Abominable Bride now is available as "independent" title. But from this time you need to pay for it smile

ps Can't wait for listening all 3 CDs - hope I'll get them on next Saturday.

Good that they've made this a bit more widely available, it would've been a shame if people who didn't know about the pre-order deal couldn't get it.

Listening to The Abominable Bride now, very good. Only 27 mins though, which is why it probably didn't get a separate release previously.

The Final Problem is only 30 mins too. Makes you wonder why they just didn't include The Abominable Bride as part of the Series 4 set.

For anyone curious, The Abominable Bride is a slipcase within a slipcase!

Cue Zack Hemsey's "Mind Heist."

The bonus CD isn't available anymore? I don't see it on the website. I was going to buy this because of the bonus disc, but wasn't keen on pre-ordering something that isn't going to be released for 8 more months.

Edit: I just remembered that the month and day are flipped outside the US (where ever this online store is located). Darn. I did think it was weird that they were advertising this release as a "preorder" when it wasn't coming out until October.

Oh man, I am so glad I got “The Abominable Bride” while it was still available! It sounds like Arnold and Price had a lot of fun writing it.

Fantastic release. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of music from this set and look forward to repeat listening this weekend.

For those who haven't bought this set yet… nab it while it is still available. The bonus disc is a great companion piece to the existing albums.

Ugh. Still haven't gotten mine in the mail yet!

(Anyone else notice the nod David made to his Last Of The Dogmen score?)

I received it a couple days ago. Fantastic stuff. Plan on giving it another spin over the weekend for sure.

As there doesn't appear to be a general Sherlock thread, I suppose I may as well post this here.

I've been enjoying Sherlock S04 immensely (especially The Lying Detective, The Final Problem, and The Abominable Bride) and was thinking of picking up some of the earlier seasons. Any suggestions on where to start? It sounds like the music has more or less been getting better and better as they go along. S02 and S03 both have received pretty strong reviews. I'm thinking I might pick those two up first and then, if I really crave more, look into S01. Thoughts? What are everybody's favorites?

they pretty much develop their material from the start... therefore the best just start with the 1st and then progress from there... speaking of favorites by far it is still season 2 for me... especially the first episode has some large orchestral writting which doesnt really return until the final episode... not to mention THAT episode is also my favorite BY FAR.

Season 3 and 4 feel WAY too long and include a lot material that wasnt particularly necessary to have - I wish S2 would have much more generous presentation than it got... with season 3 there are some good moments particularly in Emmy-winning score for last episode...

Season 4 I really like one montage cue in E1, some thematic bits in E2, which is fully developed in E3, which Id say is again the best score of the three - just like in the case of previous season where I cant really remember much material except for the S03E03...

Thanks for your thoughts, Lokutus. It sounds like S02 is your favorite, followed by Ep 03 of S03, so my gut instinct to go with those two first might be right.

Honestly, I like them all and would recommend starting at the beginning and working your way forward from there.

I do wish more music from seasons 1 — 3 had been released — especially “The Sign of Three,” in particular the wedding bell version of “The Game Is On” theme.
