If you produce less and less on CD, and don't stock the stores with CD's of course their revenue is going to go down.
But on the flip side of that if you produce everything on a format that is declining regardless, you get stuck with a lot of dead stock. You can't force stores to buy everything. Amazon can't be a savior on everything and I can say with confidence, that even our beloved OST labels are not selling what they used to.
That argument doesn't hold water when it's well documented (I have seen it myself) that CD sales are not what they were. It's not due to a lack of releases, that is for sure.
Definitely one of my holy grails! I remember looking for this for years after the movie came out, as there was supposedly a soundtrack released on Virgin records. I had a printout with the catalogue number on it, but with the late addition of Marinelli and Banks, there probably wasn't enough time to prep a release. There was an 'unmentionable' that I came across a few years ago with around 28 minutes of music, I'm guessing that was probably the original soundtrack release that finally found its way out.
These guys wrote some great music back in the 80's & 90's. Hopefully they can release more!
