Don’t know if this has been already posted, anyway a very good news for all Powell admirers:

Renowned composer Andrew Powell (Ladyhawke, Rocket Gibraltar) will score "Here We Go Again, Rubinot!", a sci-fi short promo movie for the developing experimental video system Split-Vision conceived by Italian cinematographer Giuliano Tomassacci, who wrote and directed the promo.

Spanning between several years from 70's to modern days, HWGAR! chronicles the legend of Rubinot, an enigmatic and mystical female android, chased by an international scientific committee determined to understand her seemingly inexplicable technology. Starring Michela Bruni in the titular role along with Paolo Parnasi, Anna German, Clarice Ching, Luca Persiani and Francesca Nerozzi the promo will be also presented as the first, prototype content to be showed in Split-Vision.

Powell, famous former Alan Parson Project member and valued music producer for such artists like Kate Bush, Kansas and Elaine Paige, is highly active in the concert stage as composer-conductor and in the contemporary scene - with his unique sound and style - as a distinguished arranger and orchestrator. "Here We Go Again, Rubinot!" will mark his comeback to film music after the huge success of his sweeping score for the Richard Donner's Ladyhawke and the deeply sensitive soundtrack for the drama Rocket Gibraltar with Burt Lancaster.

For further news and info about HWGAR! and the development of the Split-Vision Project follow the project official site and the composer's official site.

As I said to you elsewhere, albertsky, this is great news! As a longtime Powell and APP fan (and one of the world's most avid defenders of the LADYHAWKE score, no doubt!), this is something I look forward to very much. Powell is one of those composers who have been woefully underused, especially in terms of film music. Convince him to release the music!

Pretty sure Powelk also orchestrated or helped with Emerson, Lake and Palmer's The Works Vl 1 which is also dynamite
