Hi everybody!

I need some info I amn't able to find online. I wanted to know if this tribute cd to John Williams which you can find here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007AYLUOY/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp

The performances are rerecording or they come from the original score releases? I read somewhere the Sabrina track comes from a volume from "Cinema Serenade". Is that right? I appreciate any comment on this, thanks.

Basically it's a compilation of releases from Sony Classical, so some are OST tracks, some aren't.

The tracks from War Horse, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Tintin are the OST versions, all the rest were previously released, mostly by the Boston Pops or the Recording Arts Orchestra of LA that recorded the American Journey album. Sabrina and Schindler's List are from the Cinema Serenade album made with the Pittsburgh Symphony. The Star Wars track is from the Skywalker Symphony album. The Happy Birthday Variations was recorded at the same sessions as the music from American Journey, but was never released until this CD.

Thank you Matt.

So already owning the original score releases plus the "An American Journey" (aka "Call of the Champions") cd, it looks like it isn't very worthy.

Probably not, no. That's why I skipped it, anyway.

Hi Juanki,

Please take a look to my discography, it's the most complete and comprehensive on the web. It may help you understand more visually when and where some tracks where issued first, and which where "previously unreleased".
