We're doomed. Someday, we'll all be dead and our species will go extinct. Man's ultimate achivement will be to leave an unusual strata of rock in this planet's crust.
The reasoning of science should inform all of us and motivate the decisions of our leaders. That it does not, is a very disappointing thing. I worry for my kids and grand kids.

I largely agree with this. Unfortunately we're all to blame to a certain extent.
Normal Joe Man - "I wish I had more money."
Important Powerful Man - "I'll double your wage if you sign this form. If you read the small print it says that we can't guarantee anything else except the doubling of your wage. Will you sign?"
Normal Joe Man - "Well, I do like penguins, but I've never actually met one, so okay then."
Sadly, it can’t even be discussed reasonably anymore as Jehannum has said, because of the politicization of it.
Those expressing skepticism are likely to be labeled as “Deniers” (implying a connection with those who deny the reality of The Holocaust).
Are we doomed because of “Climate Change”? It’s possible if the models are correct and it continues unchecked. If humans start dying off due to climate change then won't the effect diminish as fewer humans are left?
Earth will still survive and likely will no more notice the disappearance of those bipeds who once roamed her surface than she did the disappearance of those “Terrible Lizards”.
Can those who predict “Climate Catastrophe” provide convincing evidence that we are doomed when some of their dire predictions have already proven false, and some within their ranks have been guilty of manipulating, if not outright falsifying data?
Can skeptics listen to those in the climate science community without jumping to the conclusion that it is all just a hoax to expand government control of our lives?
When neither side acts reasonably it simply makes either argument difficult to be heard and addressed over the din of name-calling and acrimony.
Just to clarify, "Hottest on Record" doesn't automatically mean "Hottest Ever".
Well glass half full, England is managing to make some good wine these days with the slightly warmer weather
For all the talk, we're not really doing anything about it, are we. We use tons of energy warming/cooling our homes, drive everywhere, we buy tons of stuff, & just because it's made in China doesn't mean it takes less energy to produce.

Earth has done a marvelous job rebounding from almost five extinction events, but if global warming goes unchecked we could turn into Venus 2.0 and nothing will survive.
Na, the Earth's been warming up for the past 10,000 years (I'm not saying that we haven't given it a big shove), in fact mans dominance has only happened once it was warm enough. The Earth will carry on getting warmer & colder long after we've gone, & the rest of life will do a lot better when we're not around.

We're supposed to be in another ice-age right now. That's how much the Earth is warming up. The Earth can rebound from an ice-age, it can't from the green house effects of global warming. Once the caps melt there is nothing left to reflect the light of the sun, the atmosphere gets thicker and the heat can't escape and the planet gets hotter and hotter. The oceans dry up and we have Venus.
