Hello every body! Hope you're having a nice day wink

I need your help: I've had this soundtrack stuck in my head for years now, but all I have is the melody. No details, no movie title, or composer name. All I have is a retranscription I've written:

To any huge fan of this mysterious tune stumbling upon this, please put me out of mysery wink

Thank you!

I don't know, sorry.

But I've made a numpty of myself plenty of times before here, so why not once more? It "looks" like it has some of the same intervals common in several scores by Ennio Morricone... Is that a help? Warm? Cold?

Damn never was much of a sight reader, sure could use a keyboard. Neat challenge.

PS
found an online virtual piano; pounded out first bar and it sounds a little like the opening of The Human Comedy but that's just an immediate ear reaction...

I can't read music. Can you hum a few bars?

I'm trying to do this in my head, so when I get to the end of a line, I've forgotten the start. First bit's going into STEPMOM (John Williams) at the moment, but in five second's time who knows?

Good game! Hope this gets solved.

P.S. Any hints as to instruments you're hearing, mad buddha?

Haha I wish I could sing like you, haineshisway wink Seriously though, I wonder if there is any way for me to post an audio file or link to one :/

Graham Watt and Preston Neal Jones, for having listened to many of their soundtracks, it wouldn't surprise me if it were Ennio Morricone or John Williams! I'm studying at the library at the moment, and I had the genius idea to forget my headphones; as soon as I'm home, I'll listen to what you have suggested, and keep you updated big grin

Thank you guys so much wink

Oh my God, Graham Watt...It was STEPMOM! It's the second track on the soundtrack album, The Days Between (6:27), and you can hear my part at 4:15! You should've seen my face when the track started playing XD!

Thank you so much! You nailed it wink!

Nice spot, Graham. You've impressed me, and let me tell you it doesn't take much.

Gosh! Glad to have been of help, mad buddha! I wouldn't have bet more than a pint of beer that I was right!

I played "The Days Between" yesterday and made an ear association similar to the one previous and yet could not detect what Graham did. Great pick-up indeed. And for me a truly shameful faux pas:

Haha it would have been well deserved! Let me know if you're ever around Paris, I'll gladly take you out, my treat!

Don't worry about that, Howard L, it happens to every one wink Thank you anyway for replying to the post, and trying to figure this out with me big grin

I had a similar experience with the score to "We're Back, A Dinosaur's Story".

Are you a composer?

Not quite sure what you mean there, ed. Do you mean you had a theme from "We're Back" floating around your head for years and then all of a sudden the answer came to you? More details please.

The "Are you a composer?" question is easier for me to fathom. But I imagine you're aiming it at the Big Budddha, so you'll only know for sure if he replies. I can follow that reasoning. Oh yes, I'm good. Hope that the madman returns. Seems like a nice chap. And he's offered to buy me beer in Paris.

Oh Graham, I have lots of tunes floating around in my head, thus my lousy attention span. I've been to Paris and I love beer so I would love to come too. Most of all, we could use a new composer among us, agree? smile

A few years back, I was frantically going through all my Morricone LPs and CDs looking for this one track. It was driving me crazy. It wasn't on anything. Finally, I called my brother-in-law, sang it to him, and asked him what the hell it was. He informed me that it was the "Valentina" song from "Death Walks at Midnight" by Gianni Ferrio.

Graham is right, we need more details about the "We're Back, A Dinosaur's Story". I do write music - that I throw away a lot - but I wouldn't define myself as a composer...To get my work out there, I'd need to reach a certain level of self-satisfaction with my work, which is not the case at the moment.

Are you looking for one smile? Any projects you're working and want to share?

That's a nice compliment, thank you! Actually, I'm more of a whisky kind of girl, but since you found my nowhere-to-be-found, I'm ready to make an exception for you, but just for ONE beer wink

And you're welcome to join, edwzoomom wink The more the merrier!

Haha I can relate! You're lucky, though, the people with whom I tried that failed at their being-human-wikipedia mission. Guess it's time for me to get a brother in law.
