My first thought as well, but would Warner Bros. let Batman out of the hands of Hans Zimmer (and his new teammate in DC matters, Junkie XL)?

I would prefer a Mcreary Batman but that's probably just me. Good news about Reeves taking over the helm however.

Please no, for the love of God, Giacchino scores every single thing now.

Great news about Reeves directing.Im glad Affleck stepped down not that he isnt a very capable director, its just that now he can concentrate on giving another awesome Batman performance as he did in BVS. As for the music i hope they keep the Batman themes established in BVS whichever composer they end up using just like i hope they use Wonder Womans theme from that film in her solo outing.

My first thought as well, but would Warner Bros. let Batman out of the hands of Hans Zimmer (and his new teammate in DC matters, Junkie XL)? For Giacchino? Sure they would. If you think about every decision for these tentpole movies being essentially job insurance for the people making them, it all makes sense. If an executive allowed Zimmer to be replaced by (say) Bear McCreary, he could point to all the wonderful work McCreary has done, but he could not point to a string of box office successes that would essentially be a firewall protecting his decision from second-guessing. With Giacchino, it's very easy to say "Hey, I went with the guy who scored 'Rogue One' and 'Doctor Strange' and 'Inside Out,' and those were huge hits, so you can't blame me!" And if it seems like I'm being very harsh on these people, let me also say that they all have expenses and mortgages and families, and if I were them, I would want to keep my job, too.

Now that George Miller's not directing THE BATMAN holds no interest for me, the film or score. I think Miller was alleged for Justice League, years ago. Affleck was going to direct The Batman.
