It has more to do with not wanting to waste a TV and get rid of it just because there is a new standard available. I'm not doubting 4K won't turn out to be useful at some point but right now the content is just not there. Why replace a TV that is still working fine? I like to use things until they actually stop working.

I'm just teasing everybody, of course. I'm pretty happy with 1080p right now too, and my Panasonic plasma TV is still going strong after eight years.

BUT I have seen 4K TV and OLED with HDR and I want it!!!! I'm just not in any hurry. I won't spend more than $1500.00 for a new TV.

BUT, if 4K Blu-rays of PLANET OF THE APES and 2001 came out tomorrow, I'd be like "Damn, now I have to start spending money. 65" curved screen 4K TV, here I come."
