This theme (to 'Planet Earth II') is not my thing. Still, it's not every day that a film composer performs on a national talk show.

http://www.cbs.com/shows/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert/video/wrcHeLuRHtnRumFUCKCNKGoyEXUpDK1U/hans-zimmer-brings-the-planet-earth-ii-soundtrack-to-the-late-show/

(Unrelatedly, the segment just before Zimmer was pretty funny. Before you write it off as "Kids Say the Darnedest Things," stay on to the end. http://www.cbs.com/shows/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert/video/Dxq0JKDdpLk4oHNCnyAIdjMgrjD_fJaj/andrew-garfield-and-idina-menzel-star-in-a-movie-written-by-kids/)

Apologies in advance if this doesn't play outside the U.S.

The theme is fine, and I love the fact that he appeared on Colbert, but the score as a whole didn't impress me much.

Yeah, whatever one might think of his music, I'm glad Zimmer's always been good at bringing more exposure to the medium. He's very active with more "mainstream" artists on his social media pages as well. I see this only as a good thing.

It looked like he got a standing ovation afterwards, which is pretty cool.

And in today's New York Times crossword puzzle, 16-Across is "Composer Zimmer with four Grammys." (Hint: It's four letters.)

Agreed ! Film music exposure is a good thing. Who's conducting?
