Hello organisors... I am interested in attending the Saturday night concert, which includes David Shire, Trevor Jones and Victor Reyes, but I'm in a world of hurt trying to book tickets. The uniticket website I'm directed to does not offer any tickets available (although it tells me 319 are available) and although it says click basket or map, there is no basket and nothing happens when I click map. Any help would be greatly appreciated, either by posting here, or at my email address in my profile. Thanks.

So, I went to a concert Saturday night! LEGENDS, it was called. Here's what they played. Prologue 2016 Suite (about 10 mins, containing)..LaLaLand (unmemorable), Moonlight (dull/depressing), Fantastic Beasts..(now we're talkin), Kubo2strings (nice), Dr Strange (catchy). To be honest, I would have much preferred ANY other David Shire or Victor Reyes piece to have replaced this (Hindenberg, 2010, All The President's Men), but it was okay. Next was 2 scores by Victor Reyes. RED LIGHTS (sublime) and BURIED (Herrmanny). He came on stage. Got an award. Mucho applause. Spoke some Spanish. Next up...David Shire. Max Dugan Returns (fun), Pelham 1-2-3 (funky), Saturday Night Fever (disco boogie magic) and then a lengthy suite (25-30 minutes) from Return To Oz, with theatrical narration of the Baum text by Didi Conn (MRS David Shire). Cue applause, flowers and David Shire on stage, getting an award and saying how glad he was he finally accepted the MOSMA invitation (after 2 previous attempts) to attend, how thrilled he was to be there, how much he loved Malaga and how amazed he was that Spain put most other countries to shame in their championing of the arts and film music in particular. He even squeezed in a pop at Trump! Interval...beer...wine etc Part 2 was all about Trevor Jones. 6 pieces from Dark Crystal..all fantastic. Man, I miss the days when a new score like this was just one of many to be had on LP at any given time. 4 pieces from Last Of The Mohicans (pretty cool) Trevor Jones then came on stage, had a chat (loves Malaga, gonna move here to live..these events give composers a rare chance to meet up and get to know their friends/allies..Yabba Yabba) and then proceeded to conduct the last two pieces himself.. Theme from Notting Hill (average/pleasant) Bombastic piece from Dark City (a score I've never really cared for, but decent enough, if not quite the show-stopper finale these concerts usually give). Huge applause, all the players came onstage, more awards given, some people on the pitch, thinking it was all over...IT WAS! Did anyone attend the other concerts (Tyler Bates, Jose Nieto, Mr Robot guy)?? Anything to report? Oh and Graham, was it 'Spanish kids don't go to bed before 2-00am week' in Spain last weekend? We got back to our gaff around midnight, a concert was booming away, band live on a stage in the middle of the main square, people were eating HUGE MEALS outside at bedtime and kids of every age (but especially really wee tots) were bouncing around everywhere!! We were sat at a bar, having a beer, 12-30am and the temp was 29 DEGREES!!!! It's a CRAZY country you live in G, but I do enjoy my visits there

Oh and Graham, was it 'Spanish kids don't go to bed before 2-00am week' in Spain last weekend? Now I don't feel so bad about not going (not because it sounded rubbish, but because your description was vivid enough that I could imagine it all in me 'ead)! One of the many things I really like about living here is that when there's some kind of festival or event on (about every day of the week it seems), the whole family is out partying it up right into the wee sma' hours of the morning, especially during the summer months when it's hot and there's no school. A bit different from "back hame" where there was nothing to do except sniff glue and drink Buckfast before vandalizing the bus shelters! I'm quite glad actually that I'm up north. I don't think I could stand those temperatures down south. Can't remember where exactly, but yesterday some place (Granada? Córdoba?) registered the highest official shade temperature ever - something lunatic like 45.5º! And that's Celsius! In Scotland that's our normal summer Fahrenheit temperature. Anyway, luckily for me, we usually only get to a measly 30º or something in the hottest months. That's still too hot for me though. Today's a very pleasantly sunny 24º at the moment. Hasn't rained for literally months though. There'll be water restrictions soon, so we'll have to go manky, just like "back hame" where we didn't have a bathroom and my mum put me in the sink with the dishes twice a year. But enough of this non-film music ranting. That new PAPILLON's bloody good, innit?
