Dutch radio station Radio 4 is having a film music week. The play a lot of it (though not exclusively) and composers like Loek Dikker and Tom Holkenborg joined the hosts in the studio for very nice interviews.
With the film music week, the also are running a poll. You get to pick five of your favourite scores. Three of them must come from a pre-selected list, you can fill in two free choices.
Most of picks on the selected list is pretty bland en predictable. Horner gets Braveheart and Beautiful Mind, Goldsmith has Basic Instinct and Star Trek and there's a lot of Williams. For instance: there's no Poledouris, Isham isn't represented, only one Elmer Bernstein and don't get me started on golden agers!
There's no greater incentive to participate in a poll than knowing that the poll's designers thoughtfully went through the trouble of making the choices for you.
