Yeah, I think I remember hearing that DS9 Vol. 2 is coming out this month.

Yeah, last I saw MV said D.S.9. Volume 2 was in January. I would guess maybe the same day "Buffy the Vampire Slayer is coming (January 23).

Finally listening through to the whole set. In all the comments here about David Bell's Dark Frontier, nobody mentions the Goldsmith DNA running throughout. Somebody apparently said "make it sound like First Contact!" Which is natural, and I like his take on the late Goldsmith idiom (pere and fils).

But whoa - pretty dang obvious homage/tracery!

I agree that “Dark Frontier” is heavily influenced by Goldsmith, but it isn't just the score from First Contact; there are parts that sound like First Blood or Outland; the score certainly has that same restless quality as the latter.

Yes, that's why I said "DNA". Still, FC is naturally the defining template, since this is part of what I think of as the Borg 2.0 era - once the Queen was introduced it's a new ballgame, both story wise and music wise.
